Coltec Consulting has always existed to help manufacturers solve difficult problems. Today, those problems are leadership problems.

Why Coltec exists

Coltec Consulting was founded in 2002 after Glen Hall, then supporting clients through Ernst & Young, was asked by one of his largest clients, ZF Group, to continue supporting their organization independently.

Originally, Coltec focused on engineering, operations, product development, and manufacturing improvement. The name reflects those roots: “Col” from Colossians 3, a chapter that has shaped Glen's view of work, integrity, and service; and “Tec” from the technical, engineering, operations, and product development work that launched the firm.

Glen kept Coltec Consulting active through the years, including select short-term assignments between full-time executive roles.

2002 — Founded

Coltec Consulting begins through independent consulting work for a major manufacturing client after Ernst & Young.

2002–2013 — Manufacturing, operations, and consulting

Coltec remains active while Glen serves in full-time executive roles and completes select consulting assignments with manufacturers.

2013 — Leadership challenges become the work

Manufacturers increasingly begin asking Glen to help find people for roles he was being asked to interview for himself.

Today — Manufacturing Leadership Advisory

Coltec helps manufacturers solve leadership problems through Manufacturing Leadership Search, Leadership Advisory, and Strategic Talent Solutions.

We don't fill positions. We help manufacturers build leadership teams.

The mission has evolved. The purpose has not: helping manufacturers succeed.
